Rules & FAQ - Please read before posting

Rules:

No swearing or racist comments
Unacceptable language is the simplest form of unacceptable content. No intentional mis-spelling of swear words or with asterics etc.
Avoid sexual innuendo or explicit vocabulary, racist, religious and insulting comments. Posts which break this rule will be edited, suppressed or deleted.

No advocating of illegal practices or harm to animals
The promotion of drugs or illegal activities is not permitted.
Also, any threads/posts mentioning the shooting or harm of animals will be suppressed or removed.

No spamming
Please do not promote commercial websites without prior permission from the site owner

Linking to non-commercial websites for no reason other than to promote them is also considered SPAMMING. These posts will be suppressed or removed.

No naming of persons or businesses on the basis of unsubstantiated rumours
These topics will be deleted or moved into the Moderators area for review

No pornographic or offensive material or links to be posted (includes nudity)
Links to 'adult' websites, pornographic pictures or jokes will be removed. Persistent offenders will be banned.

Personal and unconstructive attacks on other members will not be tolerated
Repeated harassment of other users on the forums or off the forums because of their posts is strictly prohibited and will result in a ban and a report of your behaviour being sent to your ISP. All IP addresses are logged and viewable by Moderators. Along the same lines as above, expressions of hatred based on race/ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, disability, and religion are strictly prohibited.

Classifieds: In order to try and help cut down any problems it is a requirement that people selling items send there contact details to a MOD via PM. Alternatively they can email the details to jeffjhall@btintnernet.com
This rule also applies to users requesting items they need (wanted ads).
Also, in order to cut down on arguments where users outbid each other we request that the seller puts a price against the item(s) for sale immediately. If the user wishes to auction the item they should use a website more suited to that kind of transaction (such as eBay)

Items of the following nature CANNOT be sold on the forum:
Guns and Knives, Pirate copies of DVDs or other media, Material of a pornographic nature or content, Illegal substances.

Note
Users, who are repeatedly abusive, insulting and anti-social, will be banned permanently by our moderators via IP address. Posts containing pornographic material and/or the glorification of violence, drugs and/or racial abuse will be passed to the relevant authorities.


Site usage tips:

The posts that you write speak volumes about you! Remember this is the internet, a VERY public forum and search engines will trawl the site and find things that YOU have written.
Search the forums before you post your topic. Your question or comment may have already been discussed, answered, or resolved.
Create a concise meaningful topic name that adequately summarizes your topic. For example: "What is the best method for catching Carp off the surface?" rather than "I need help!". Also, provide details in your comment or question to increase the likelihood of starting a discussion.
Refrain from using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, excessive question marks (?) or exclamation points (!) in your subject or content.
Cross-posting the same question in more than one forum will cause confusion and most likely reduce the chance of a reply. Try and put the topic in the correct forum, you will get far more relevant replies this way.
Be patient. All the participants of this forum are using the forum and participating in discussions on their own time.
Help others. The forum is a community, and works best when people share information.
Give feedback. If someone helps you by answering your question, try to add a follow-up response letting them know if it worked or not.
Please don't post 2 posts right in a row in the same thread...if you feel you must do this please combine your posts (edit the first post and add the new material).
Choose the forum that your question or post best fits in, and place it there and only there. We also reserve the right to move posts to other forums and delete duplicates. It is simply not acceptable to post your question more than once, or to post it in more than one forum.
Misuse of HTML Code - Over-use or mis-use of HTML Code may be held as an offence at moderators' discretion. This would include particularly annoying, large, flashing, or otherwise unnecessary over-use of such special features.

Classifieds: When buying or selling goods on the forum, we, would advise both parties to make contact with each other, via telephone, to verify and agree terms of the sale of the said, item.
The mods will take details before anyone is allowed to sell on the forum, but CarpForum will not be held responsible for any transaction that goes wrong (e.g. goods are not as specified, goods do not get received by the buyer, or moneys do not get received by the seller)
The transaction is between the two parties involved.
p.s. Be sure you are both happy with the terms of the sale before agreeing.
